from Peru north throughout Central America into the USA and migrating further north to Canada

In between 7 and 9 centimeter
Season:
depending on temperature 2 or more flights, continuously when kept above 15°C
Food plants:
Onagraceae (Epilobium, Clarkia, Fuchsia, Epilobium, ...), Lythraceae (Lythrum, Cuphea, ...), Vitaceae (Vitis, Cissus, ...), Impatiens, Mirabilis and others
Rearing:
Easy and suitable for newcomers. Keep warm, dry and clean. Fast growing and ready to pupate within 4 weeks. Keep in spacious and well ventilated plastic containers. The pupal stage between the 2 flights is short (only 2 weeks when kept warm). The pupae resulting from the second flight can overwinter in the fridge. If stored too warm adults will continue to emerge.
