Artace colaria
Distribution:
only known from mountains in southeast Arizona (USA).
Wingspan:
In between 3,5 (males) and 4,5 to 5 (females) centimeter
Season:
In captivity continuously (when kept warm)
Food plants:
Quercus species. Easy to rear on Quercus robur.
Rearing:
Not difficult to rear in well ventilated plastic containers on the warmer side (above 20 degrees Celsius) as long as everything is kept very dry and clean. It takes approximately 2 months before they spin their cocoons. The pupal stage is fairly short (3 to 4 weeks). Don't try to overwinter, just let the adults emerge.
