The hummingbird hawk moths are a very large genus, with approximately a 100 species. These small and mostly day active moths occur throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Many of them have never been reared, so if you can get livestock do not hesitate and give it a try. Your  caterpillar pictures might very well be the first.
