The 32 species in the Hyles genus occur almost worldwide, however the largest number of species can be found in the Mediterranean and (the warmer part) of central Asia. These are colorful creatures. Many species look very similar especially those in the euphorbiae & tithymali complex.

The rearing is pretty straightforward. Most Hyles do well in (spacious) plastic containers as long as it is dry, warm and clean.
