The 13 Othorene species currently recognized all occur in Central and South America. They are medium to somewhat larger (the females) sized moths. 

Obtaining livestock is the most difficult part when it comes to rearing Othorene species. Most are not regularly available. Besides that, it is all pretty straightforward. Even someone with little experience should be able to manage an Othorene brood.
