The 13 members of the Phyllodesma genus are found throughout the Holarctic region. Most occur in Eurasia, but 2 species are present in North America. These are small Lappets, usually fast growing with one or two annual flights.

Some species like tremulifolia are easy to rear, other species like for example japonica a lot less.
